Scott Morehouse tweeted this out today:
Its the first steel beam for the Football indoor practice facility! The picture makes me proud to see the improvement of Herd Athletics overall. This beam might seem small, but to many its the first step to improving several sports at Marshall!
Another picture was sent out as a sneak peak of yet another project for Herd Athletics:
Yes, that's a brand new basketball floor! (Volleyball too if you want to get technical). I know the team refurbished the floor we have now a few years ago, but I noticed in the past year that the court just didn't seem up to par with others. I am also confused why they got a new court this year instead of waiting a year for the Conference USA name to change. It just seems like a lot of extra work to me. I am guessing the old court has a lot more invisible issues that we as fans cannot see.
I also thought the process of having a court made was interesting. A company lays out and connects all the wood in their factory, paints it, puts a little shine on it, and then divides it into pieces to ship to wherever it is going. Interesting. I can't wait to see what it looks like in the Henderson this season!
